Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lyubina Vesselinova is a distinguished and widely recognized expert in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (PRM) in Bulgaria. With a career spanning over three decades, she has proven herself as a leading authority in the field, combining academic rigor with extensive clinical practice in one of the most dynamic multiprofile hospitals in the country.

Until mid-2024, she served as the Head of the First Clinic of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine at the Military Medical Academy (MMA) in Sofia. In 2025, she continued her dedication by establishing a specialized rehabilitation outpatient clinic, with a distinct focus on the conceptual rehabilitation and on the lymphedema-rehabilitation—a field in which she is one of the few highly qualified specialists in the country.

Education & International Specializations:
Dr. Vesselinova graduated from the Medical University of Sofia (1993) and acquired her specialty in PRM in 1998. Her qualifications are bolstered by extensive international specializations in Austria, Germany (where she acquired her qualification in Lymphology), Belgium and Italy (graduating from the renowned School of Electromagnetic Fields in Erice).

• Lymphedema Management: Specialized rehabilitation based on high-tech objectivization of the stage, for patients, undergone surgery and/or radiation therapy; traumas.
• Conceptual rehabilitation: Expert application of therapeutic magnetoelectric fields and natural factors, with a variety of personalized approaches.
• Wound treatment: A validated independently developed protocol for atonic and decubital wounds recovery.
• Post transplantation pulmonary rehabilitation – experienced in acute SARS-CoV-2 rehabilitation as well.

Scientific contributions in fields of:

• Electromagnetic fields – as a harmful professional factor in the routine of Physical Medicine.
• Sarcopenia – author of a validated score scale for kinesiological stage assessment and prognostic correlative assessment of severe complications risk.
• Assessment of rehabilitation potential – author of a validated, conceptually new scale for complete assessment and staging.
• Medical standard of Physical and rehabilitation medicine – main author.

She is a member of the National Expert Board of PRM and has been repeatedly recognized in the “Doctors Whom Bulgarians Trust” initiative since 2017.
